Late 2007, I was keen to find out more about Malaysia Tourism as I wanted to get involve in it.
Then, I browsed the internet and tried to find if there was any special traveling packages with affordable prices. And after have been browsing for hours, I found what I have been searching for. I stopped right at http://www.viewmalaysia.com
The website was filled up with many nice Malaysia great sceneries and long list of hotels with very cheap rate. I mean, real cheap rate; some even with US$1 per night per deluxe room of a 3 star hotel. Don’t you think it sounds too good to be true?
And after reading all the small prints and promotional texts, those special rates were only for Account A member. Well, that’s right, they got 3 accounts altogether (if I’m not mistaken). The most basic account and Account B are both free but you can’t get those special rates but might have some other affordable rates.

But once you upgraded to Account A, you will not only have the right to get those special rates but also able to make money when someone else upgraded their Account. Which mean, it’s a referral system. And to upgrade to Account A, you will need to bank in RM150.00 to the Admin’s Account.
Well, as a newbie in Online Marketing, I didn’t conduct any survey or find out more about it. I banked in the money and hoped for the best. The system said that it’ll need 24 hours to process the upgrading. I waited patiently and in the same time started planning on how to do promotion.
However, things didn’t turn up well. I waited for 72 hours before my account was finally upgraded. But somehow, the next morning when I logged in again, the system was down. Not for 1 or 2 hours, but about 1 week plus. And when I finally able to log in again, my account was down-graded back to Account B again.
So, I tried to contact the Admin but guess what, only can be reached with email. There is no telephone number. With this, I learned a valuable lesson, whenever we want to buy something online, we must always check out the Contact Us and find out how can the Web Owner or Admins can be reached, and not with emails only.
From then, I went to search more about www.viewmalaysia.com and guess what, I found out this link and posted some comments there …
http://associatesmalaysia.blogspot.com/2007/11/viewmalaysiacom-scam.html
As of now, when I went into that website again, it was directed to
http://cyberjaya.sfdns.net/suspended.page/
I think Malaysia’s cyber detectives already suspended the account and get the culprit(s).
Beware also a similar scam by www.vmholiday.com
I suspect both are from the same person/gang.
Have you ever fell into this scam before? Or perhaps you have fell into other online scams. Do share with me your experience by email and I’ll post it up here once the case is verified.
Be extra careful before signing up to any Online Marketing and be extra skeptical when money transaction is required as there will not be any way to retrieve your money back.
